Over the course of an accomplished career, Jeff Loomis has become one of the pre-eminent musicians in the world of heavy metal. First breaking through as a formative member (and primary composer) of the band Nevermore, with whom he quickly established himself as one of the top talents in a crowded field.
By the time the band was laid to rest seven albums and countless world tours later, Jeff was one of the most in-demand players on the scene. He released two primarily instrumental solo albums, 2008’s Zero Order Phase and 2012’s Plains Of Oblivion, to widespread critical acclaim, and then collaborated with fellow 7-string enthusiast Keith Merrow on the self-titled Conquering Dystopia album in 2014.
An instructional DVD saw the light of day in 2010, Extreme Lead Guitar: Dissonant Scales & Arpeggios and he has remained a fixture on the instructional showcase and clinic circuit, eager to share his insights with the rest of the metal community.
2014 saw him join the renowned group Arch Enemy as one of their two lead guitarists, undertaking hundreds of live shows around the world and further establishing both his name and reputation as a first-class talent. Jackson Guitars joined forces with Jeff and in 2019 released the Jeff Loomis Signature Kelly, a gorgeous 6-string model made to his exact specifications. A third solo album is planned for 2020 along with much, much more touring.
